PrivatBank named as the only Ukrainian institution among the Top-1000 world banks

In 2016, PrivatBank is the only Ukrainian bank among the Top-1000 largest World Banks, according to the prestigious ranking published annually by the British magazine The Banker.

According to the July issue of The Banker, PrivatBank remains among the largest banks in Central and Eastern Europe, holding 627th position in the 1,000 largest world banks ranking despite the difficult economic situation in Ukraine.

The Top-1000 World Banks are chosen by The Banker experts on the basis of data on banks’ capital and assets. The ranking has been compiled for more than half a century and is considered to be one of the most respected in the financial world.

PrivatBank is the leader of the Ukrainian market. According to GFK Ukraine research of banking services for individuals, as of the end of 4Q2015, 48.4% of customers of Ukrainian banks used PrivatBank services and more than every third Ukrainian (39.3% of respondents) regarded PrivatBank as their main bank. The research showed 42.6% of Ukrainian corporates use the services of PrivatBank.

The consolidated profit of PrivatBank for 2015 grew by 11.4% compared to 2014 and totaled UAH 275 mln. As per its financial statements prepared under International Financial Reporting Standards and audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of the world's leading auditing companies, the capital of PrivatBank Group as of the end of 2015 amounts UAH 29,045 mln, and assets total UAH 247,934 mln. The bank’s capital adequacy ratio (CAR) according to Basel requirements improved from 13.7% up to 14.9% in 2015 and PrivatBank’s CAR according to the regulatory requirements of the National Bank of Ukraine was 11% (with the mandatory minimum of 10%).
